George Berlin’s Art Blog

Delving into the mind of one of those weird artist people

“The Bee’s Knees” my next short animated film (part 5 of a bazillion)

Last time, I showed a bit more of the background and some more

polished designs of the house and just a touch of windowsill

where the bee meets his darlin’ Daisy…

Now on to the meeting…

I figure it’d be funny for the flower to be looking away from the bee when a breeze blows a petal in her face and she has to flip it out of the way.

Kinda that classic cutesy girl hair flip thing, but unintentional. She won’t actually see him yet.

Then we’ll see him reacting like this…

He’ll do a little double take, and then lick his hand and try to smooth his antennaes back like they’re

hair. And of course his antennaes will pop back up, like a bad hair-do.

Gotta spiff yourself up when you meet a cute flower, y’know…

Then, of course, she’ll blush a little and giggle when she notices him.  She’s a modest girl.

I think I made this drawing before I decided she would be on the windowsill.

Next time- a little bee on flower romance for Valentine’s Day!
