    George,
I love your user name/handle, “eye of the hurricane 99”.
I have to wonder if that means that you live in the Southern United states along the Gulf of Mexico or Southeaster USA. I have made a number of friends in that area since becoming a member of Weather Underground weather service. Many of them know first hand what it’s like to live through a hurricane, in fact many of them have been through that experience more than once. What lead to to choose that user name? Do you live in the USA? Where do you live? Me, I live in the Upper Midwest USA in the state of Minnesota. The land I love to call the “Land of the Frozen Tundra”. Apparently one of our local weatherman must have picked up on that phrase as I heard him use it on the TV weather one night. 🙂

      Don,

I live in Chicago- my dad remembers the tornado that tore threw part of Oak Lawn back in the lates 60’s. As close as I’ve come to a hurricane.

My user name, well, has little to do with the weather… but a great deal to do with surviving in the heart of chaos.

I work in animation production for the advertising and direct-to-video market and people always tell me I’m exceptional at keeping my head together when things are insane (which, invariably, they are…)
We have crazily short deadlines, demanding work, and long hours.

Hence, I am the eye of the hurricane. Why I’ve chosen to surround myself with all these windbags, we’ll never know…

      🙂

Good folks in Minnesota- I work with a few of them. A friend of mine says places that are cold as hell like that are good for weeding out all the flakes.

I’ve got a nephew who lives near Chicago in the suburbs on the South side. I’ve never been to Chicago myself, but my son has. He told me that it’s quite different from the Twin Cities and not nearly as laid back.

Now I understand you user name. Been there, done that. Engineering can be very hectic also, especially when you are in competition for business or struggling to keep from loosing business. Different field, same insanity. 🙂

Actually many of my friends in the Southern states think that you have to be a flake to live in Minnesota. You weather tends to be a little warmer and windier, but Chicago has had more than it’s share of Winter and severe weather. I have a photography friend who lives across the lake from you near Grand Rapids, Michigan. This is his blog on Weather Underground, Charles Images. He is a young man who has shown quite the talent for photography.
You will see that the blogs at Weather Underground are a little different from WordPress. I’ve been involved with them for a little over 4 years now. My blog over there is MNTornado.

    Hi George
I know this is not the correct place to do this but I can’t find an email address for you.

I am writing to ask if I might use an image you created (The Many Faces of Zebo – color) on one powerpoint slide. We are running a workshop helping uncertain teens identify education and career choices.. When I saw you image and and thought how well it showed how one character can be many things.

If you are willing, that would be so much apprecaited.
    Kind regards
    Tamara

Been so long I’m used Word Press, I think I’m going to have to relearn things before making updates. I really like what you have done you your blog. Gotta check out you books too. Very impressive!!!

  6. Hi George,
I like your characters and would like to use some drawings for my grade 1 curriculum. Shall I send you the material as I am planning to use it? It has your name on it! 🙂
